About

Paul and Kelli at Big Ben

Paul Glover lives in rural Virginia with his wonderful wife, Kelli, their two cats and one dog.

Paul is a self-confessed computer nut, and has been since the age of 11. Even younger if you count “Space Invaders” and “Breakout”. Given the choice he uses Linux and open source solutions, and has a fondness for ancient computer games which can’t really be adequately explained to anyone born after about 1980.

He’s been a “hacker” (in the true sense of the word) as long as he can remember, having always had a fascination with understanding how stuff works, and sometimes making it work better, or in ways it wasn’t really intended to.

Atari 800XL and Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k - the computers which launched an IT career.

His involvement in the world of computing began in the summer of 1984, when he was exposed to programming using BASIC on an Atari 800XL. That Christmas he became the happy owner of a Sinclair ZX Spectrum (the classic rubber-keyed 48K model) and wound up spending a month learning how to program it when his ancient 1970’s-vintage tape recorder turned out to be useless for loading games software from tape.

He is a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast, and now works as a web developer, mainly using Coldfusion. In his spare time he’s becoming an increasingly keen photographer, and is currently working on building a small microstock portfolio.
